Boardman police investigating weekend ‘road rage’ incidents

BOARDMAN — Township police are investigating two separate incidents of road rage over the weekend.

According to police, a 26-year-old township man called police to say he had been assaulted in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart store on Doral Drive Saturday afternoon.

The man told police he had been sitting in his car in the parking lot waiting for a spot to open up when a female from another car came up to his vehicle screaming and demanding that he move. The man said the female aggressor began to slap him about the face and head before getting back in another car and leaving the area.

Reports say the woman was in another car driven by another female. Wal-Mart security captured video of the incident and will be supplying that information to police.

An incident of road rage Sunday morning went beyond words or a slap in the face with one man pulling out a gun and pointing it at another driver.

According to police, a 46-year-old Western Reserve Road man said he was driving in the area of U.S. Route 224 and Market Street when he “may” have cut off a driver in another vehicle. The man said the other driver began to follow him and eventually pulled alongside his car pointing a handgun.
