Addie Litowitz crowned Ohio Miss Job’s Daughter


CANTON — Addie A. Litowitz, daughter of Patrick and Rebecca Litowitz of Mill Creek Boulevard, Boardman, was crowned Ohio Miss Job’s Daughter during ceremonies that took place April 25 at the William H. Hoover Lodge in North Canton. She was also selected as Ohio Miss Congeniality. This is the fifth time since 1971 a Job’s Daughter earned both titles in competition.

The International Order of Job’s Daughters is an organization of young women related to a Master Mason. They perform community service projects to help their community and the less fortunate.

During her term, Litowitz will visit chapters of Job’s Daughters throughout the state, will represent the organization at Masonic events and will work to promote literacy.

In August, Litowitz, who represents Bethel 35 of Niles, will travel to Richmond, Va., to compete for the title of Miss International Job’s Daughter.

Litowitz is a graduate of Boardman High School, where she was a four-year member of the Boardman Spartan Marching Band, served as the band’s field conductor and was band historian. She was first-chair flute player in the freshman, concert and symphonic bands and earned top ratings in solo and ensemble competitions.

She was a member of Flood Aid by Boardman Students and the speech team, was features editor for the school newspaper and captured first place at the 2008 Youngstown State University Press Day for her human-interest piece.

Litowitz is a freshman majoring in English at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, where she earned dean’s list recognition and served on the university’s Student Promotion and Recruitment Team.

As a Job’s Daughter she has earned a number of honors, including the Youth in Excellence Award, Most Ideal Job’s Daughter, and first place in ritual, music, cooking and patriotism contests.
