Seminar on home health hazards set for Tuesday in Mineral Ridge

MINERAL RIDGE — A Healthy Homes Conference, primarily for public health and housing professionals from Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, is being offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fifth Season Banquet Center, 1400 Main St.

Sponsored by the Mahoning County District Board of Health, in conjunction with the Mahoning County Family and Children First Council, the Mahoning County Lead Hazard Control Program, Mahoning Valley LEAP Program, Ohio Department of Health and the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority, the conference will feature speakers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Environmental Protection Agency, who will discuss the federal transition from Lead Poisoning Prevention Programs to more encompassing Healthy Homes programs.

There also will be speakers who are experts on lead poisoning, asthma, mold and integrated pest management.
