NAACP, NACA offer aid for loans

STAFF REPORT

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown chapter of the NAACP is partnering with the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America to give homeowners struggling with their mortgage an opportunity to restructure their loans.

NACA brings “Home Save Seminar” to the Choffin Career and Technical Center, 200 E. Wood St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Representatives from NACA will be on hand to provide the best available solution to homeowners.

NACA is a U.S. Housing and Urban Development certified nonprofit organization that has helped thousands of homeowners regardless of credit ratings to keep their homes despite the challenging economic times and the prevalence of predatory lenders.

The seminar is the first step to provide valuable information and financial education to mortgage holders.

NACA can reduce the interest rate to as low as 3 percent and if necessary reduces the outstanding principal based on what the homeowner can afford.

The Youngstown chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People said the corporation can do this because it has secured legally binding agreement with most of the major lenders and investors which covers 90 percent of the at-risk homeowners.

All of NACA’s services are free. The event is open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged online at www.naca.com or toll-free (888) 302-6222. For more information contact NAACP Youngstown Branch at (330) 782-9777 or e-mail: www.naacpyoungstown@yahoo.com
