Fellows Friends are growing nuts for Spring Plant Sale at gardens

YOUNGSTOWN — Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens will have their Spring Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.

This year’s event includes annuals, hanging baskets, herbs, shrubs, perennials, summer bulbs, roses and fruit plants for the home garden.

A member’s preview will take place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday. Garden enthusiasts may join the Friends organization at the sale and receive the member discount. The Spring Plant Sale supports the continued improvement, preservation and educational role of Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Fellows Riverside Gardens, operated by Mill Creek MetroParks, is a botanical display garden open daily free of charge from dawn to dark. The Davis Education & Visitor Center is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the months of May, June, July and August, the Center will be open on Wednesdays until 8 p.m. For more information, call (330) 740-7116.
