Mass and social for young adults set May 30 at Blessed Sacrament
WARREN — All single and married Catholics in their 20s and 30s are invited to meet and pray with other young adults while celebrating Pentecost at 4 p.m. May 30 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, N.W.
Participants are encouraged to wear red and white to match the theme, and to arrive at 3:45 for seating. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available from 2:45 to 3:45.
The Rev. Donald King will be the main celebrant at Mass. A “Pentecost Party” with appetizers and finger foods will follow the Mass.
Many young adults have contacted the diocese seeking ways to better connect with the church, looking for peers who hold the same values, seeking a sense of belonging, and hoping to offer their talents and skills for the greater good. This Young Adult Mass and Social (YAMS) is one step in helping these young adults connect or re-connect. There will be an information table with brochures, fliers and resources to help the young adults take the next step.
This free event is sponsored by Blessed Sacrament and the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.
The first YAMS took place in February 2008 with more than 70 participants from all around the diocese gathered at St. Charles in Boardman.
