Bat attack

WARREN — Demetria D. Anderson, 19, of Parkman Road pleaded innocent to two counts of felonious assault Thursday after police say she hit one teenage girl in the head with a baseball bat and used her car to hit another teen girl.

Police were called to Northwest Boulevard near Lansdowne Avenue Northwest around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday for a fight.

A 16-year-old Merriweather Street girl told police she had gotten into a fight with a female and was hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat by another female, who she said was Anderson.

A 16-year-old girl from Williamsburg Street Northwest told police she was also hit by a car driven by Anderson during the fight. Police said that 16-year-old also was carrying a baseball bat.

Both 16-year-olds were treated at St. Joseph Health Center for their injuries.

Anderson said the problem with the two teens began after the younger brother of one of the girls broke the windshield of Anderson’s car by throwing a rock into it.
