FOOD SALES AND DINNERS
WEDNESDAY
• Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. • Southington United Methodist Church, state Route 305 at 534, Southington, will serve chicken dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Meals include 1‚Ñ4 chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw and homemade desserts. The cost is $7.50 for adults. Children’s meals of chicken tenders will be $4 for those 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and under. THURSDAY
• Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road, Poland, will have takeout dinners of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans available from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out). The cost is $6. No need to pre-order or get out of the car.
FRIDAY
• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 :30 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.
• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.
• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed early from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.
• Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will sponsor a carryout fish fry at the club from noon to 5 p.m. A dine-in fish fry will follow from 6 to 9. Meals include perch, fries, coleslaw and dipping sauce. The cost is $15. For more information call (330) 536-8143 after 8:30 a.m.
• Potato and cheese pirogi will be sold Friday at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order, call (330) 799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or after 8 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.
• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.
• Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.
• St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 between 9-11:30 a.m. only. Pickup will be until 1 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza. This is the last sale until Sept.
• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The final sale of the season will be May 22.
• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be by 1 p.m. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. • A Swiss steak dinner will be served from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road. SUNDAY
• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1429 Mahoning Ave., next to Fellows Riverside Gardens, will have its all-you-can-eat Mother’s Day Sunday Buffet in the church’s Colonial Hall from 11:45 a.m. until the food runs out. Buffet items are roast beef, potatoes, roasted turkey and stuffing, Grandma’s green beans and other vegetables, applesauce, coleslaw, assorted fancy desserts, bread and beverages. • The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve Mother’s Day breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

• The First United Methodist Church, 3711 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge, will be selling homemade doughnuts the first Saturday of each month. • Youngstown American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., is taking orders for carryout stuffed cabbage. The cost is $12 a dozen. Patrons can provide their containers and save the $1.25 fee charged for club containers. Orders will be accepted until Thursday by calling (330) 799-7008 or (330) 792-5124. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. May 16 at the club.

• An all-you-can eat pasta dinner from noon to 3 p.m. at Buena Vista Cafe, 1305 Buena Vista Ave., Warren, will benefit the laid-off Warren City police officers and their families. Dinner includes meatballs, bread and butter, salad and dessert. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Carryouts will be available.
• Kinsman United Methodist Church trustees will have their chicken-and-biscuit dinner between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 20 at 8362 Main St., Kinsman.
