GM Lordstown body shop workers to report for work tonight
LORDSTOWN — Workers are being asked to report for their regular shifts tonight at the General Motors Lordstown plant’s body shop, where a fire broke out earlier today.
GM spokesman Tom Mock said this afternoon that repairs had been made in the body shop, and production will go forward.
A small fire started around 4 a.m. today, and company officials said it is believed that equipment that dries cars malfunctioned.
Body shop workers were sent home, and production was set to resume Thursday.
