POLAND

April 30

Theft: Numerous packs of cigars were stolen from Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road.

Criminal mischief: Someone used a permanent marker to write obscenities on a building in the 3300 block of Center Road.

May 1

Identity theft: An elderly Palmarie Drive resident discovered $11,738 worth of fraudulent credit-card charges.

BOARDMAN

May 1

Theft: A Boardman-Canfield Road man found two unauthorized charges totaling $189 from Port Charlotte, Fla., had been made to his bank account.

Theft: A 23-year-old township man was charged in the theft of two items from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A woman, 47, and a 53-year-old man, both of Youngstown, were accused of stealing 20 articles of clothing or food from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, and charged.

Arrest: Police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested a Struthers woman, 18, on a felony charge of receiving stolen property and misdemeanor counts of theft and misuse of a credit card. Earlier, a township woman had reported her credit card stolen, and that $412 had been withdrawn without permission.

Theft: A Mathews Road woman received and deposited a $1,950 check she later learned was no good.

Theft: Two Youngstown women, 31 and 32, were charged in the theft of nine bath items from Kmart. The loss came to $91.

Arrest: Officers responded to a U.S. Route 224 eatery to deal with a person causing a scene and charged a township man, 36, with aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct while intoxicated, resisting arrest and assault. The man shoved an employee in the chest and fought with police, who had to use a Taser, a report said.

Theft: Twelve boxes of siding were stolen from Energy Wise Home Improvements Inc., 5164 Youngstown-Poland Road.

Auto theft: A 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer was stolen from a home in the 4900 block of Southern Boulevard.

Theft: A man in his early 30s stole a six-piece drill set valued at $600 from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.

Assault: A township man alleged his girlfriend struck him in the head and twice bit him on the arm. The woman said he had grabbed and shaken her.

Theft: A 23-year-old Youngstown woman was charged in the theft of 10 clothing items and personal products from Wal-Mart.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a possible domestic situation at a Melrose Avenue residence and arrested a 29-year-old Boardman man on a probation-violation charge.

Vandalism: Front and rear windows were broken at a residence in the 60 block of Shields Road.

Criminal damaging: Eggs were thrown at a garage door in the 7700 block of Silver Fox Drive.

Aggravated menacing: A Boardman man reported another man left a message threatening to kill the accuser.

Theft: Two Youngstown boys, 15 and 16, were charged and accused of taking a bandanna and miscellaneous clothing from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Two New Martinsville, W.Va., girls, 12 and 14, faced charges after $80 worth of clothing was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Aggravated menacing: A township woman alleged her former boyfriend threatened to shoot at her apartment.

Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 29, was charged with domestic violence, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disrupting public services after officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man. He pushed and choked his girlfriend, then dragged her through a hallway before threatening and swearing at officers, causing them to employ a Taser to get him under control, a report showed.

May 3

Theft: A man left Aces Wild Wings Inc., 277 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying a $41 food bill.

Theft: A vehicle’s rear license plate was removed in the 90 block of Arlene Avenue.

Theft: A Boardman man, 42, was accused in the theft of five pieces of merchandise from Wal-Mart.

Domestic violence: A 19-year-old Southern Boulevard man was taken into custody at his residence on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest. A woman alleged her boyfriend had grabbed her neck and pushed her out of their apartment, then forced her to the ground.

Assault: A Western Reserve Road man was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus for injuries after alleging his girlfriend’s father choked, threw down and kicked him, causing him to pass out.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side rear window was broken in the 200 block of Mathews Road, resulting in an estimated $150 damage.

Theft: Two computer parts and loose change were removed from a car at a Doral Drive store.
