Traffic-pattern changes for bridge-deck work
YOUNGSTOWN — Traffic-pattern changes were made Saturday on U.S. Route 224 over Mill Creek. Route 224 is now reduced to one lane in the westbound direction and two lanes in the eastbound direction.
In addition, Pinewood Drive and the adjacent drive to Mill Creek Park at the intersection of 224 are both closed. Detours are posted. This work is part of an $800,000 project to replace the bridge deck on the Route 224 bridge over Mill Creek. The project is scheduled to be complete by late September.

Water-system flushing
LEETONIA — The village has completed the 2009 water-system flushing program. The program should help improve the water quality by removing old sediment from the waterlines. Village officials said the process should help maintain a better water quality throughout the year.
Should residents experience any discolored water, report it to the water office at (330) 427-6720. This is the first time the village has done a complete flushing program since it began using Salem water, officials said.
