Lawmakers OK $4.5 million loan for clean fuels facility
COLUMBUS — A state lawmaker panel signed off Monday on a $4.5 million forgivable loan to assist the Columbiana County Port Authority in its efforts to develop a clean fuels facility in the village of Wellsville.
The funds will be used by the authority to purchase and prepare a 525-acre site for the Baard Energy Ohio River Clean Fuels Plant, which is developing a 53,000 barrel per day coal-to-liquids facility.
