BINGO, CARD PARTIES
• Second Chance Animal Rescue will have a bingo fundraiser from 6-10 p.m. Friday at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. Admission is $5, which includes one bingo sheet with three bingo cards and a chance for a door prize. Additional bingo sheets are $1 each or get one free bingo sheet per person with a donation of paper towels, dish soap, tall kitchen trash bags or laundry soap. The money raised will help to fund the shelter’s trapping and spay/neuter programs. There will be 18 vendors with gift items for weddings, graduations and Mother’s Day. A portion of the vendors’ sales of the evening will be donated to the shelter. The prizes for the bingo games will also be provided by the vendors. There will be a 50-50 drawing, Chinese auction and food for sale. Take pennies and dimes to cover bingo cards (no daubers) and donate them afterward to help the animals. • Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will have a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on bag day Thursday. Coffee and doughnuts will be available.
• Grace Lutheran Church Youth Group, 162 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, will have a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Featured will be clothing, household items, toys, books and treasures. A special bag sale will begin at 12:30.
• Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Road, will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. Clothing, books, housewares and all the usual rummage sale items are in good condition.
• Masury United Methodist Church, 1382 Broadway Ave., Masury, will have a rummage sale and bake sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the church. Hours Thursday and Friday are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and lunch will be available. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to noon.
• Mount Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, will have a rummage sale on the following days; Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (bake sale), Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (half-price day) and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon ($1-a-bag day). • Newton Falls United Methodist Church will have a parking lot sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 23 at 336 Ridge Road, Newton Falls. The cost is a $10 nonrefundable donation for a parking lot space. • New Vision Baptist Church will have a treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday in May at 505 W. Boston St., Youngstown. New and like-new items will be for sale at bargain prices. Rental space is available for $8. Call (330) 719-6822.
• St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave., Niles, is having a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. Saturday is $2-a-bag day.

• Everlife Worship Center, 474 Early Road, is having a Mother’s Day Tea from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Attendees are encouraged to wear hats, and men are welcome. There will be door prizes, fashions and Mary Kay products on sale. The donation is $10. • OSU Master Gardeners has planned a 4th annual “Springtime at the Garden 2009” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Trumbull County Agricultural and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St., Cortland. Free garden programs will take place throughout the day. Area crafters, antique and collectible dealers, herbalists, garden art vendors and civic organizations are invited to participate. • Canfield Republican Women’s Club is sponsoring a day bus trip to Columbus on Wednesday. Featured will be a tour of the state house and lunch, an opportunity to sit in on House and Senate sessions, and a chance to talk to legislators.
