NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s final concert of the season at the Scottish Rite Cathedral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, with Manfred Honeck, conductor.

The program includes Christopher Rouse’s tonal work “Rapture,” Strauss’ “Death and Transfiguration” and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

Danklef Hill Gallery to reopen in new space

SALEM — The Danklef Hill Gallery will reopen May 15 at a new location in downtown Salem — 515 E. State St. (it is currently at 474 E. State St.). The owners, Kristina Danklef and Kathleen Hill, will showcase their own artwork as well as provide gallery space for established and emerging professional artists from the area.

The gallery will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Additional hours will be added soon. The owners are often working on projects in the gallery throughout the week and additional hours are available by appointment.

The gallery is also looking for established and emerging professional artists who work in a variety of contemporary styles to exhibit at the gallery. Visit thedhgallery.com for more information.

Mall gallery opens media resorce center

NILES — The Art Outreach Gallery in Eastwood Mall has opened a Media Resource Center, with art books, videos and magazines available to borrow or purchase.

The gallery is located along the concourse between Macy’s and J.C. Penney. Hours are 5-9 p.m. Friday, 1-9 p.m. Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Radio talk-show host to present live show

BOARDMAN — National radio talk-show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger takes a personal look at the joys and struggles of motherhood in “Dr. Laura Live! In Praise of Mom,” a live in-theater event that will be shown in more than 450 movie theaters nationwide, including Tinseltown in Boardman, at 8 p.m. Tuesday (followed by a taped encore presentation Wednesday). The show will be simulcast from the Irvine Barclay Theatre on the University of California, Irvine campus. Dr. Schlessinger will recount her own life as a career woman turned stay-at-home mom, and answer questions from audience members.
