Family celebrates with dinner, dance for Polens’ 50th

SALINEVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Albert Eugene Polen, 18601 state Route 644, were honored by family and invited guests as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a dinner and dance at Das Dutch Haus Village Inn, Columbiana.

Hosts for the 6 p.m. April 4 event were their children and their wives, Steve and Christine Polen of Boardman, Todd and Beth Polen of Canton, Brent and Jennifer Polen of Salem and Kent and Charmayne Polen of Canfield. There are eight grandchildren in the family.

The former Saundra Colleen Cassidy and Mr. Polen were married on May 4, 1959, in North Carolina.

Mrs. Polen was a cook with the Columbiana Career and Technical Center in Lisbon prior to retiring.

Mr. Polen served with the U.S. Army, and was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Canton in the tool and die department until he retired.
