Bank robbery investigated

AUSTINTOWN — Police continue to look for the suspect in an armed robbery at a township bank.
A man in his mid-20s about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt walked into Key Bank on Raccoon Road and demanded money just before 3 p.m. Thursday.
A teller told police the man threw a blue canvas bag to her and pointed a stainless steel semiautomatic handgun at her.
She put an unspecified amount of cash into the bag before he grabbed it and ran out of the building, according to police reports.
Police said they retrieved $1,550 in cash that was dropped as he fled the scene.
Detectives from Austintown, the FBI and Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force are investigating the robbery and ask that anyone who has information contact the Austintown Police Department at (330) 799-9721 or the local FBI at (330) 965-2940.
