Additional charges may be coming.

GIRARD — City police arrested two men believed to be responsible for an armed robbery at a city convenience store last week.

Ryan Lamar Davis, 18, and Darell L. Lowe, 19, both of Youngstown, were arraigned Thursday in Girard Municipal Court and are in Trumbull County Jail each on $100,000 bond. Both men will be back in Girard Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing Monday.

Davis was arrested Tuesday and Lowe on Wednesday. Both men, said Police Chief Jeffrey Palmer, surrendered to Detectice Greg Manente and the Mahoning County Law Enforcement Task Force Fugitive and Gang Unit.

According to police reports, a man came into the Trumbull Supermarket on Trumbull Avenue at 4 p.m. April 22 looked around then left.

Moments later the same man, accompanied by another man, rushed into the store — one carrying a shotgun and the other carrying a pistol with laser sights.

One of the men informed those in the store: “This is a holdup!”

A male employee was made to open the register. The man holding the shotgun reached in and began taking money, then took the entire drawer from inside the cash register. Both men then left the store in an unknown direction.

The stolen cash drawer contained about $150.

Palmer said the two men may be facing charges for additional crimes in other areas such as Austintown.

“Austintown Police Department really helped us out a lot. These two are suspected of numerous armed robberies in the area so additional charges from other jurisdictions may be pending,” he said.
