Boating safety class offered May 12 and May 19 in Canfield

CANFIELD — Mill Creek MetroParks and the Ohio Division of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft are jointly sponsoring a boating safety class May 12 and May 19 at the MetroParks Farm on state Route 46 here.

The eight-hour class is being offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on those days. Participants should plan to attend on both dates in order to receive complete training and take the exam. Light refreshments will be provided.

Ohio law requires that people born on or after Jan. 1, 1982, who operate or supervise operation of watercraft greater than 10 horsepower must successfully complete a boating course or proficiency exam.
