Double murderer settles lawsuit over medical care

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A convicted double murderer has settled a federal lawsuit claiming he has received inadequate medical care while in Pennsylvania prisons.

David Munchinski’s settlement was reached Monday in federal court in Pittsburgh but remains sealed because of “sensitive medical and administrative issues.”

The 56-year-old inmate sued in 2003 claiming he was wrongly denied treatment for numbness and limited mobility.

Munchinski is serving two life terms for the December 1977 slayings of James Alford and Raymond Gierke in Fayette County.
