2 will face charges

BROOKFIELD — Two males will face criminal charges in a car theft in Sharon, Pa., that led to a police chase ending in Brookfield Township, according to a Trumbull County police dispatcher.

The two, an adult and a juvenile whose names weren’t available late Monday, took the car shortly after 8 p.m., the dispatcher said. Police responded quickly and apprehended one of the suspects at 8:16 p.m. Monday after they abandoned the car on U.S. Route 62 near Bedford Road, the dispatcher said.

Brookfield police were assisted by Hubbard Township police, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Youngstown police K9 unit. A Youngstown police dog was helpful in catching the second suspect at 9:03 p.m., the dispatcher said.

A gun was recovered in the car, the dispatcher said. Charges against the two were pending.
