2 Amish teens killed in Pa. car crash

GORDONVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A pair of teen Amish brothers from the same small community where a gunman killed five girls at an Amish school in 2007 have been killed in a car crash.

State police say 19-year-old Mervin Lapp and 18-year-old Mahlon Lapp were killed Sunday evening when the truck they were riding in struck another vehicle head-on.

Five other people, all 20 years old or younger, were hurt in the crash. Police say two men are in critical condition and two men and a woman are in serious condition.

Family members of the Lapps say all seven people involved in the crash are Amish.

One relative, Dan Esh, says the men lived near a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Nickel Mines where a crazed gunman’s attack left five girls dead and five others wounded.
