Warren teacher charged with menacing is jailed

WARREN — A physical education teacher for the Warren City Schools charged with menacing last week for following an ex-girlfriend and her friends is back in Trumbull County Jail after a run-in with the house-arrest company that was monitoring him.

Dominic R. Leone, 39, of Meadowbrook Avenue Southeast was taken into custody today after Ultimate Protection Inc. notified Warren Municipal Court that it was having trouble monitoring Leone’s ankle bracelet.

David J. Domenick, a court probation officer, said the company reported that it lost contact with Leone at some point since it was placed on him Friday.

The company contacted Leone about it, and Leone said the bracelet had either malfunctioned or he had not been told correctly how to recharge it, Domenick said.

Judge Terry Ivanchak revoked Leone’s bond until Leone’s attorney, Mark Hanni, can talk to the judge about the issue.

Police arrested Leone last week and charged him with the felony after his former girlfriend, also a Warren schools teacher, reported that Leone had followed her and her friends and had been seen looking in the windows of her home.
