Le Cercle Francais marks 25th year

YOUNGSTOWN — Le Cercle Fran ßais de Northeastern Ohio et Western Pennsylvania is celebrating its 25th anniversary. On Feb. 21, the group had a Mardi Gras event at the Austintown Library.

John Dalbec and Ann Garcia were chosen king and queen, and members ate French crepes, distributed beads and played knowledge games for prizes.

On March 8, members attended the performance of Le Cirque du Soleil at the Chevrolet Centre. Upcoming activities include Moliere’s “Tartuffe” at the Victoran Players Theatre, a Bastille Day celebration and a French concert.

Officers for 2009 are Irene Fillers, president; Galen Elser, vice president; Paul Dalbec, secretary; and Mary Jane Lyden, treasurer.
