Self-defense class designed for girls

YOUNGSTOWN — The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, has designed a self-defense class for girls from 16 to 18 years of age. The J’s Teen Self Defense class will focus on learning how to size up a situation and to decide what to do, on techniques for breaking an attacker’s grasp and getting away, and on boosting self-confidence.

Classes will be from 7:30 to 8:30 Tuesdays from April 7 to 28. The cost is $20 for J members and $25 for nonmembers.
