HARDING LIVE | Halftime thoughts

Northland leads 40-27 at halftime.

- Harding is shooting 11 of 25 from the floor but has committed 10 turnovers.

- Northland is shooting a ridiculous 18 of 23 from the floor with eight second-chance points. There's only been one or two occasions when the Vikings missed a shot and didn't get the rebound. They do have 13 turnovers and have made just 2 of 8 from the free throw line. Otherwise, it'd be even worse.

- Harding's opponents are scoring 58 points per game this season. Only one team, Mentor (72), has topped 70 against the Raiders.

- Desmar Jackson has been terrific for Harding so far. He has 15 points and four steals and has kept the Raiders in the game. This sort of reminds me of when he was playing in the Div. V state football final with JFK two years ago. The Eagles lost that game, but Jackson was arguably the best player on the field. He's a big-time player.

- Like a lot of people, I think Jackson has NBA talent if he could just harness it and dedicate himself in the classroom. While we're at it, he has NFL talent, too.

- Harding was within seven, 26-19, at one point, but Northland ran off eight straight points to make it 34-19 with three minutes left in the second quarter, prompting Harding coach Steve Arnold to call a timeout. As I said before, the Raiders have no answer for Northland's offense.

- On the first play out of that timeout, Harding committed a turnover. Then gave up a basket on the other end, then committed another turnover, then gave up another basket. It's getting ugly.
