Warren man in jail, not eligible for bond

STAFF REPORT

WARREN — A 21-year-old Belvedere Avenue Northeast man is in the Trumbull County Jail without eligibility to make bond after he was accused of damaging an ex-girlfriend’s car.

Police said he also fired a gun twice at the woman’s brother during a foot chase.

Jeffrey McAnallen appeared Wednesday in Warren Municipal Court, where Judge Terry Ivanchak entered a plea of innocent for him to a charge of breaking and entering, a felony.

Judge Ivanchak ruled that McAnallen was not eligible for bond because the Wednesday morning episode may have violated his probation for a January aggravated-trespassing conviction. The aggravated trespassing is a misdemeanor.

Judge Ivanchak set a hearing date of 10:15 a.m. April 3 for McAnallen to answer to the breaking-and-entering charge and the possible probation violation.

McAnallen’s former girlfriend told police McAnallen broke into her unattached garage on Genesee Avenue Northeast at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, damaged her car and fled on foot.

The woman said her brother chased McAnallen on foot but gave up the chase when McAnallen fired two gunshots at him.

Police arrested McAnallen a short time later at his home. No injuries were reported.
