WYSU’s pledge drive has $100K goal

YOUNGSTOWN — The annual spring pledge drive of WYSU-88.5 FM, Youngstown State University’s public radio station, begins Friday and runs through April 3 with a goal of raising $100,000.

Everyone who makes a pledge (either as a new member, a renewing member, or with an additional gift) will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets for one of two vacations: a nine-day Coastal New England and Revolutionary War excursion, and a 10-day California Dreamin’ trip.

Throughout the drive, the station will offer daily prize packages, a new member prize basket, and a Pennsylvania member prize package. All of the packages will include a new high-definition radio.

“We all know these are tough times,” said WYSU director Gary Sexton. “We hope our members agree with us about the value of our programming services in good times and bad, and can find a way to renew their membership. If you can’t renew this year at your regular level, renew at what ever amount works for you. A contribution to the station in any amount will still qualify you for full membership benefits this year.”

Contributions can be made by phone at (330) 941-1481, or through a secure on-line server at www.wysu.org.
