HUBBARD

March 20

Arrest: Brookfield police picked up a Hubbard man wanted on a warrant from Pennsylvania charging him with a parole violation.

March 21

Bad check: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a township man charging him with passing a bad check.

Arrest: A warrant was issued charging a Hubbard man with theft and possession of drugs and criminal tools.

Arrest: Mahoning County Jail officials held a Hubbard man accused of failing to appear in court for a violation-of-probation hearing related to a theft charge.

Theft: A boy accused of shoplifting at Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St., was released to his mother.

Identity theft: A Westview Avenue woman found out someone had tried to use her credit-card number for a Western Union wire transfer.

Identity theft: A Princeton Avenue resident reported having been a victim. No other information was in the report.

LIBERTY

March 19

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 19, was taken into custody after a Logan Gate Road woman said her former boyfriend had damaged her apartment. He was wanted on a violation-of-probation charge.

Felonious assault: A 38-year-old Youngstown man was charged after a Hubbard man reported having been struck in the left elbow with an aluminum baseball bat. He was treated at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, for an injury to the elbow.

Forgery: The U.S. Marshals Service transported a Youngstown woman, 26, to Liberty, where she was booked on a warrant charging her.

Theft: A 13-year-old boy reported the theft of his 20-inch bicycle while in the 400 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Attempted theft: A charge was pending against a 25-year-old Youngstown man accused of using a sharp object to pry open a display case at Aldi Foods, 3497 Belmont Ave. He admitted damaging the case in an effort to steal a digital camera, a report said.

March 21

Drugs: A 39-year-old Youngstown woman was pulled over on state Route 193 and charged with drug abuse when, police said, she had a bag of suspected marijuana.

Arrest: Officers responded to a domestic situation at a Logan Gate Road apartment, where they arrested a Youngstown woman, 30, on a probation-violation count.

Arrest: A 34-year-old Youngstown man was given a summons on a criminal-trespassing charge as police responded to a possible drug overdose in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road. He was on the property despite having been warned to stay off, authorities said.

March 22

Domestic violence: A 44-year-old Girard woman was charged as police conducted a welfare check and her husband alleged she had struck him in the face. The argument was from the woman’s wanting to go out to drink and her husband’s taking the keys, a report showed.

Recovered property: Weathersfield police received a tip regarding a stolen truck, in the 1000 block of Trumbull Avenue, that belonged to a Girard company.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a dispute between neighbors in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road and charged a Youngstown man, 38, with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. The man swore at and became aggressive toward police, they said.

March 23

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to a 24-year-old Niles woman’s being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, officers said, two suspected marijuana pipes and a box with suspected marijuana residue were found.

Counterfeit: A worker for Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., reported a man tried to buy cigarettes with a phony $20 bill. The man told police he had the bill after having given someone change, and he wasn’t charged because police determined it was an honest mistake.

Theft: A Tibbetts-Wick Road man discovered someone had stolen a personal check and cashed it for $200.

Theft: A Roosevelt Drive woman told police she never received a FedEx package containing $600 worth of merchandise that had been delivered to her home.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road accused a 51-year-old Youngstown man of cutting the cable and phone lines to her brother’s residence.

Theft: A student at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, reported a $250 MP3 player stolen from her purse.

Criminal damaging: A Townsend Avenue man accused his 19-year-old girlfriend of using a pair of scissors to cut the power cords to his boom box and video game system.

March 24

Attempted breaking and entering: An employee with Schultz’s Oil & Gas, 6470 Belmont Ave., arrived to find that someone had removed an electric meter and its lock clip, apparently in an effort to enter.

GIRARD

March 22

Breaking and entering: A Mosier Road man saw that someone had broken into his garage, though nothing appeared to be missing.

Arson: Police responded to a car fire at the Girard Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St. No one was hurt.

Domestic violence: A 34-year-old man was arrested at his Morris Avenue residence on a felony charge after a woman alleged her boyfriend had pinned her to a bed and threatened to harm her.

Assault: Officers responded to a fight near Davis Street and Taylor Avenue between several people in which a 16-year-old Girard boy complained of shoulder pain. Another person sustained a swollen right ankle and possible foot fracture.

March 23

Possible auto theft: A Girard couple reported their 1981 Ford vehicle may have been stolen from their garage.

March 24

Criminal mischief: A Joan Avenue woman saw that someone had thrown eggs and placed toilet paper in her trees and on her vehicle.
