“Miss Julie” depicts the battle of the sexes — and the classes — that ensues when a wealthy businessman’s daughter falls for her father’s bitter servant. Youngstown State University Theater will present the 19th century August Strindberg play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Spotlight Arena Theater in Bliss Hall. Many have seen the Oscar-winning 1989 film “Driving Miss Daisy,” with Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. The Oakland Center for the Arts will present the stage version of the Pulitzer-winning play. “Daisy” opens at 8 p.m. Friday, with additional shows this weekend at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Following in the footsteps of Mick Boogie comes producer Terry Urban to Downtown 36. Urban, a Cleveland native, will man the turntables Friday at the dance club at 36 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Show starts at 10 p.m. Urban and Mick Boogie are friends and collaborators who will embark on a tour of Asia in April.k

- Cleveland rockers Hot Cha Cha have been getting all kinds of strong buzz. Youngstown audiences can check out this all-girl band, which falls somewhere between Courtney Love and The Cure, Friday at Cedars Lounge, 23 N. Hazel St., Downtown. Panzer Talk and Rocket Radio are also on the bill for the 11 p.m. show. Call (330) 743-6560.

“Love Overboard” is the latest production from playwright/producer Je’Caryous Johnson. The stage play takes place aboard a cruise ship, steered by a captain who spends more time stalking women than steering, and a bevy of passengers who are in various stages of relationships. The Warren Philharmonic Orchestra presents its spring concert, “Swing into Spring,” at 8 p.m. Saturday at Packard Music Hall in Warren. For tickets, call (330) 841-2931. The concert will feature lively music, according to conductor Susan Davenny-Wyner. The concert will include a salute to scouting to mark the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Concertgoers are also asked to bring a nonperishable food item to help those in need.

The premiere of local songwriter Darren Thomas’ oratorio “Forgiven” will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Powers Auditorium. A 100-voice choir will sing the piece. For advance ticket information, visit darrenthomas.net (click on events) or call (330) 207-8117.

Disney’s Playhouse Live! presents two shows Sunday — 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. — for the younger set and their parents. Mickey Mouse, the Little Einsteins and the Winnie the Pooh gang will all be on hand to entertain. Check Ticketmaster or the Chevy Centre box office for tickets.

Last Saturday, the Cleveland International Film Festival had its second-highest single-day attendance in its 33-year history, with just over 8,000 taking in movies. The festival is a fun way to see quality and little-known new flicks in a full theater, surrounded by film lovers. The CIFF runs until March 29 at Tower City Cinemas in downtown Cleveland. Dana School of Music’s spring choral concert, “Sacred World,” will be at 8 p.m. Monday in Ford Family Recital Hall, next to Powers Auditorium in downtown Youngstown. It will include performances by the University Chorus, Dana Chorale, Women’s Chorus and Symphonic Choir, and will be directed by Hae-Jong Lee.
