2009 United Way disbursement cuts
Here are some of the agencies and programs cut and the percentage and dollar amount of the cuts:
Associated Neighborhood Center: Day camp, 39 percent, $10,279; youth intervention, 39 percent, $16,597.
Boy Scouts: Scoutreach, 39 percent, $8,929; cub scouting, 39 percent, $8 ,238; boy scouting, 39 percent, $4,854; Learning for life, 39 percent, $1,408.
Boys and Girls Club: Group social development for youth, 39 percent, $13,793.
Girl Scouts: Scoutreach Mahoning County, 39 percent, $7,775.
Catholic Charities Regional Agency: Senior support Services, 24 percent, $5,689; counseling, 24 percent, $9,624.
Family Service Agency: Family counseling, 24 percent, $19,404.
Goodwill Industries: Visual support services, 24 percent, $2,434; radio reading, 24 percent; $7,451.
Here are examples of programs that were frozen at last year’s contribution rates:
American Red Cross: Disaster services, $91,172; emergency services to military families, $34,220.
Burdman Group (Sojourner House): Shelter services, $82,094.
Catholic Charities Regional Agency: Emergency assistance, $20,777.
Family Service Agency: Guardianship, $20,777.
Interfaith Home Maintenance: Home repair, $47,868.
Neighborhood Ministries: Family assistance, $5,959.
Salvation Army: Comprehensive emergency assistance, $63,090.
Visiting Nurse Association: Geriatric nurse counseling, $9,466; home health care, $35,878.
YWCA: Housing and social services, $40,033.
