Niles police investigating pharmacy robbery


NILES — Police are looking for a man who robbed the Troutman’s pharmacy, 501 Robbins Ave., at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

Witnesses told police the man went to the back of the store at just before 10 a.m. and demanded drugs from the pharmacy while waving a gun around. The man obtained a small amount of OxyContin tablets.

The man forced employees to kneel on the floor with their heads lowered while he left the store, police said. No injuries were reported. The man fled in a silver sport-utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer, police said.
