March 19

Theft: A worker for Allied Waste Inc., 8100 S. State Line Road, reported someone illegally cut down and removed 30 trees on the company’s property.

March 20

Burglary: Beaver Township police held a 21-year-old Poland man later charged with burglary after someone had entered an Algonquin Drive home via the garage and removed a 42-inch TV and several glass jars containing money.

March 22

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s window was damaged in the 5500 block of Beechwood Drive.

March 19

Criminal damaging: Officers received reports that pellet guns had been used to damage vehicles on Applewood Boulevard as well as Sciota and Afton avenues.

Breaking and entering: Someone punched a hole and lifted a garage door, then entered Mug Auto Parts, 5218 Youngstown-Poland Road, before removing a mini motor bike, a cash box, a wrench set, a firearm and a camera.

Menacing: A teenage employee of a U.S. Route 224 business told police a 70-year-old man who lives nearby has been harassing her since last month by following her around in the store, making inappropriate comments and trying to ascertain when she works. The man, however, had not made direct threats toward the teen, a report showed.

Attempted auto theft: A Lemans Drive woman found a damaged steering column on her 1997 Buick LeSabre, apparently after someone had tried to steal the car.

Theft by deception: An employee with Midwest Money Center, 5021 Market St., told officers a man cashed a $1,161.58 check from a company before the worker learned the company had placed a stop-payment on the check.

Theft: An employee with Dillard’s in the Southern Park Mall found out roughly $600 worth of jewelry was missing and posted on eBay.

Attempted auto theft: A Brookwood Road woman discovered someone had tried to take her 1998 Buick Century after finding damage to its steering column.

Robbery: After a Glenwood Avenue woman reported a gunman had robbed her of money near her Glenwood Avenue residence and fled on foot, police stopped a Boardman man, 28, wanted on felony charges of improper handling of a firearm and trafficking in marijuana. The victim said the gunman was in his 20s, wearing a dark blue or black hoodie and black ski mask, though the man was not charged in the robbery because the woman was unable to say whether he was the perpetrator, a report said.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 6500 block of Market Street led to a 40-year-old man’s arrest on a warrant from the county.

Criminal damaging: A pellet gun was used to damage a vehicle’s rear window in the 700 block of Forestridge Drive.

Arrest: A Salem man, 23, was pulled over in the 6400 block of Market Street and taken into custody on a probation-violation charge.

Criminal damaging: A Salinas Trail woman found that someone had fired a BB gun, damaging two shutters.

Theft: A student at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., reported the theft of his $50 cell phone.

Criminal damaging: An Afton Avenue man’s vehicle’s rear quarter panel was damaged by BBs.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s rear window was smashed on Sugarcane Drive.

Theft: A man reported his wallet, a set of keys and an MP3 player stolen while at a McClurg Road business.

Criminal damaging: A car had its driver’s-side window smashed at Four Wheels Vehicles, 5925 South Ave.

Criminal damaging: Damage was done to a car’s driver’s-side window and rearview mirror in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.

March 21

Stolen property: Authorities charged three Youngstown boys, one age 14, two age 15, with receiving stolen property after getting a report of a car break-in at the Southern Park Mall. The owner discovered three pairs of sunglasses and a charger missing.

Assault: A Deerpath Drive man was in a fight with another man near the accuser’s residence, but was not injured.

Theft: A Minerva man’s credit card was stolen from his vehicle at a South Avenue motel.

Theft: Police charged a 38-year-old township man with the theft of a $12 pair of socks from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Drugs: Authorities conducted an investigation at a Market Street motel, where they took into custody a township man, 42, on two felony counts of drug abuse. Twenty Methodone and three other pills were in a bottle with someone else’s name on it, police said.

Arrests: After being pulled over in the 100 block of Shields Road, a woman, 45, and a 48-year-old man, both of Campbell, were arrested on warrants.

March 22

Theft: Police charged a Youngstown woman, 40, with the theft of seven bottles of body wash and lotion from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.

Burglary: A video game console and three games were taken after someone had entered a Wolosyn Circle apartment through the front door.

Burglary: A woman arrived at her Rose Hedge Drive residence to discover a smashed front-door window and open drawers, and that property had been strewn on the floor.

Menacing: A man reported receiving a series of threatening text messages at a Sciota Avenue home.

Theft: A man stole 30 packs of cigars and two cartons of cigarettes from a Speedway gas station, 649 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Threat: Someone phoned in an indirect threat, causing a business in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road to evacuate.

Arrest: While investigating a vehicular crash on Tiffany Boulevard, officers charged a township man, 47, with misconduct at an emergency scene, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. The disruptive man continually swore at the other driver and refused to cooperate with police, a report showed.

Breaking and entering: The owner of a vacant Melrose Avenue residence saw that the front door had been kicked in. Damage was done to a toilet, walls and kitchen cabinets.

Burglary: A woman in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle discovered a break-in through the front door. Missing was a $2,500 laptop computer.
