Area meals for senior citizens


MAHONING COUNTY

Celtic Healthcare offers hot, nutritious meals at noon weekdays at nine locations in Mahoning County for people 60 or older and their spouses, regardless of age. Reservations are required three days in advance, and transportation is available. A $2 donation is suggested per meal. Home-delivered meals are also available for seniors homebound due to illness, injury or handicap.

Wednesday, March 25: Stuffed peppers with sauce, mashed potatoes, yellow squash, wheat bread with margarine, cookie, and milk.

Thursday, March 26: Grilled chicken with gravy, chopped spinach, au gratin potatoes, diced peaches, rye bread with margarine, and milk.

Friday, March 27: Vegetable lasagna, peas and diced carrots, Italian bread with margarine, diced pears, and milk.

Saturday, March 28: Cold cut sandwich on a hamburger bun with mayonnaise and mustard, celery cup with ranch dressing, fresh apple, and grape juice.

Monday, March 30: Jumbo hot dog on a bun with ketchup and mustard, baked bean quintet, broccoli cuts, diced peaches, and milk.

Tuesday, March 31: Johnny Marzetti with Parmesan cheese, peas, unsweetened cinnamon applesauce, Italian bread with margarine, grape juice, and milk.

TRUMBULL COUNTY

The Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs offers older people a well-balanced meal and an opportunity to share fellowship weekdays at 12 locations in Trumbull County. Reservations must be made two working days in advance. Any person 60 or older or whose spouse is 60 or over is eligible to attend. There is no income requirement. The suggested donation is $1.25 per meal.
