Family dinner honors Gordons on anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Reuben J. Gordon
YOUNGSTOWN — Reuben James Gordon and his wife, Florence, of Youngstown, commemorated their 60th wedding anniversary March 19 at a special dinner with their family.
Their family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Reuben Gary and Doris Jean Gordon of Youngstown; and a daughter and son-in-law, Grace Darlene and the Rev. Walter L. Randolph of Phenix, Va. There are also six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in the family.
Mr. Gordon and the former Florence Bailey were united in marriage on March 19, 1949, at her parents’ home in Youngstown.
Mr. Gordon retired in 1989 as a plasterer for Jack K. Krepes Plastering.
Mrs. Gordon was employed as a receptionist for Dr. William R. Johnson before retiring in 1984. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State University and had worked as a substitute teacher for the Youngstown Board of Education.
The Gordons are members of St. Andrew’s A.M.E. Church.
