Annual children's concerts to be performed
CONCERTED EFFORT: Plans for the annual children’s concerts to be performed at the Edward W. Powers Auditorium were recently approved by the Women’s Committee for Children’s Concerts, from left, Mary Place Thomas, committee member; Mary Sferra, vice president; Marilyn Samuels, chair of the Tiny Tots Program; and Carol Fithian, chair of the Young Peoples Concerts. On April 2 students in grades four to eight from surrounding counties will hear a program titled “Counterpoint,” a theory lesson performed by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. The director, Randy Fleischer, and his wife, Heidi Joyce, will explain the counterpoint concept. Art, based on the program themes and submitted by students, will be hung in the foyer at the auditorium.
