Kathleen Raymond, William Mertel plan May wedding

AUSTINTOWN — Robert and Robi Raymond of Whispering Pines Drive are announcing the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Raymond, and William Joel Mertel, both of Pittsburgh.

Parents of the future groom are Joel and Paula Mertel of Fern Road, St. Marys, Pa.

The couple have planned a 5:30 p.m. wedding for May 23 in Christman Hall at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown, where a reception will be immediately following the ceremony in the ballroom. Invitations will be extended for both.

The bride-elect, also known as Kati, graduated from Pittsburgh Technical Institute with a degree in multimedia technology. She is pursuing a degree in radiology technology at the Community College of Allegheny County, where she plans to specialize in CT and MRIs. She is a vendor manager at Servicelink in Moon Township, Pa.

The future groom, who is known as Bill, is employed by FedEx Services in Pittsburgh as a technical analyst in Endpoint Security. He graduated from Pittsburgh Technical Institute with a degree in computer networking systems and earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Robert Morris University.
