A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

March 15

Menacing: A worker for a North State Street business said she had received threatening text messages from her estranged husband.

Menacing: A woman in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue reported her mother’s intoxicated boyfriend threatened to harm her.

March 16

Burglary: An East Broadway Avenue woman discovered someone had entered via a side door before stealing a $200 stereo system.

Theft: Officers responded to the theft of several phones from Family Dollar, 910 N. State St., and arrested a Girard man, 27, on a probation-violation charge. He had not been charged in the theft at the time of the report.

HUBBARD

March 12

Fraud: A West Park Avenue man found out someone had made a fraudulent charge to his credit union-issued debit/credit card.

March 13

Assault: Took place at a business in the 400 block of West Liberty Street.

Robbery: A Wendemere Drive man reported his daughter was robbed and assaulted in front of their residence by someone who left in a blue Volvo.

March 14

Attempted burglary: A man told officers two female teens tried to enter his Rebecca Avenue home.

Theft: A worker for a pizza restaurant discovered money and several items missing from his vehicle as he made a delivery.

Menacing: A township woman reported a caller threatened to break into her apartment when she was out of town.

March 16

Theft: A man reported the theft of a generator from his Rebecca Avenue home.

Bad check: A Lowellville man visited a West Liberty Street bank and learned that a check he had been written was on a closed account.

Criminal damaging: Police received a report of damage at St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Tylee Lane.

Theft: An employee with Circle K, 211 W. Liberty St., detained two people accused of shoplifting.

LIBERTY

March 13

Theft: Someone pried a $500 multimedia station from its display and fled Cartronics, 3515 Belmont Ave., in a vehicle.

Arrest: Struthers police handed to Liberty authorities a 25-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a warrant from the township.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 3700 block of Belmont Avenue resulted in the arrest of a Youngstown woman, 25, wanted on a warrant from Liberty.

Theft: A man reported the theft of his wallet while at a Belmont Avenue motel.

Theft: A charge was pending against a 35-year-old Austintown man who police said is seen on a surveillance camera stealing money from a register at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.

Recovered property: A Girard couple found and reclaimed a 22-foot pontoon boat and related property they said had been missing from a Belmont Avenue storage facility.

Theft: Someone jacked up and removed from a vehicle three alloy wheels at Churchill Motors Inc., 1480 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

March 14

Burglary: A man noticed someone apparently had entered his Lynn Drive residence via the front door. Stolen were several pieces of Pittsburgh Steelers merchandise.

Theft: Police picked up a 33-year-old Youngstown man in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue. He was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court to face a theft count.

March 15

Robbery: A worker for Conroy’s Party Shop, 3629 Belmont Ave., told authorities a man in his 30s with short hair fought with him over three cartons of cigarettes before fleeing in a vehicle. The worker chased the perpetrator, a report said.

Theft: A 16-year-old boy at a Motor Inn Drive motel reported a drill, a leveler device and miscellaneous tools missing from his vehicle.

March 16

Theft: An 18-year-old Youngstown man was charged, accused in the theft of two Sony PlayStation games from Movie Gallery, 3551 Belmont Ave.

Assault: A Hadley Avenue man told authorities four men jumped him at his apartment building. He suffered cuts to his forehead and other areas.

Criminal damaging: A Murray Hill Drive man found that someone had broken a wooden fence door to his yard, then used a BB gun to shoot several holes in his swimming pool’s liner.

Theft/criminal damaging: An Aurora Drive man noticed a broken vehicle window after someone had removed a compact-disc/DVD player and two 12-inch woofers. The theft and damage came to $1,000.
