Aut Mori Circus will come to Chevy Centre in May

YOUNGSTOWN — The Circus Aut Mori is returning to the Mahoning Valley after a two-year absence. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for the three-ring circus, which will come to Chevrolet Centre for five performances May1-3. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. May 1; 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. May 2; and 2 p.m. May 3.

Prices range from $10 to $48 and are available at Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster.com and the Chevy Centre box office, or by calling (866) 448-7849.

The circus, now in its 39th year, visited the Struthers Fieldhouse every year since from 1964 to 2006.

Peter Rockwell exhibition coming to Butler-Trumbull

HOWLAND — An exhibition of sculpture and prints by Peter Rockwell, son of the late artist Norman Rockwell, will open Sunday at the Butler Institute of American Art’s Trumbull Branch, 9350 E. Market St., and run through May 24.

A reception for Rockwell will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Trumbull branch.

Swing dance party at Orthodox Center

YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio-Pennsylvania Swing Dance Association will hold its third annual Saturday Swing Dance Party on Saturday at the Orthodox Center Pavilion, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave. Dances will include cha cha, fox trot and other line dances. Admission is $8 and includes a free lesson at 7:15 p.m. It’s not necessary to have a partner. Football Game of Hope to feature celebrities

YOUNGSTOWN — The first annual Football Game of Hope will be at 4 p.m. April 4 at Chevrolet Centre.

The celebrity flag football game will pit local celebrities against each other, with proceeds benefiting the Ava Timko Fund and the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley for chronically/terminally ill children.

Ava Timko is a 1-year-old Canfield resident who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. She is undergoing treatment in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

The game will feature area high school coaches along with other local personalities. There also will be a tug of war tournament between local high school athletes with the finals being held at half-time of the Mahoning Valley Thunder arena football game that evening at Chevy Centre. The ticket price covers the Football Game of Hope, the tug of war and the Thunder vs. Milwaukee Iron game, which starts at 7:05 p.m.
