Police seek driver involved in hit-skip

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for a vehicle that struck a man on South Avenue on Tuesday evening and kept on going.

According to Capt. David Williams, an unidentified man was crossing South Avenue near Hilton Avenue around 9 p.m. when a white Ford F-250 truck with a ladder rack and a long scratch on one side hit the man. The driver of the truck left the man in the street.

A second vehicle hit the man immediately after the truck. The man became pinned under the second vehicle, requiring help from the Youngstown Fire Department to remove him.

He was taken to an area hospital. Williams said there was no word on the man’s condition as of late Tuesday.

Police do have a witness to the accident and are looking for the driver of the first vehicle that struck the man.
