Kennedy Catholic reaches state championship game
CLARION — The 1-2 scoring punch of Kyle Randall and Aundra Jones proved too much for Elk County Catholic to handle as Kennedy Catholic won a PIAA Class A Western championship Tuesday, 58-44.
Randall and Jones combined for 45 points as the Golden Eagles (26-2) advanced to the state championship game to be played Friday at 2 p.m. at Penn State.
With the Crusaders (23-8) leading 14-11 after the first period, Randall scored 11 of his 29 points in the next eight points as Kennedy led 24-19 at the break.
Jones scored 10 of his 16 points in the third quarter when the Eagles took a 42-29 lead into the final frame.
