Pedestrian run over, pinned by car
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for a vehicle that struck a man on South Avenue Tuesday evening and kept going.
According to Capt. David Williams an unidentified man was crossing South Avenue near Hilton Avenue around 9 p.m. when a white ford F-250 truck with a ladder rack and long scratch on one side hit the man. The truck kept going leaving the man in the street.
A second vehicle hit the man immediately after the truck. The man became pinned under the second vehicle requiring help from the Youngstown Fire Department to remove him from under the vehicle.
He was taken to an area hospital; Williams said there was no word on the man’s condition as of late Tuesday night.
Police do have a witness to the accident and are looking for the driver of the first vehicle to strike the man.
No other information was available Tuesday night.
