Lawrence, Mercer County projects to be funded with stimulus money

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced its final list of highway and bridge projects that will be funded with federal stimulus money.

In Lawrence County, two projects made the list.

The Grove Street bridge, on Pa. Route 2004 in New Castle, will be rehabilitated for $3.8 million.

U.S. Route 422 from Lapin Lane to Pa. 551 will be resurfaced for $5 million.

In Mercer County, six projects made the list.

U.S. Route 62 from Franklin Road to Main Street will be restored for $3 million.

U.S. 62 and state routes 19, 58, 1002 and 1028 will be resurfaced in Coolspring, Fairview, French Creek, Greene, Perry and Sandy Creek townships, and in Fredonia, Jamestown and Sheakleyville for $2.6 million.

State routes 18, 2005 and 4019 will be resurfaced in Greenville and Pine, Hempfield, Sugar Grove and Salem townships for $1.6 million.

County railroad pavement markers will be replaced for $65,000.

Interstate 80 will be resurfaced from mileposts 0 to 15 in Shenango, Lackawannock and East Lackawannock townships. That project will cost $2.4 million.

Pa. Route 3011, or Keel Ridge Road in Hermitage and Shenango Township, will be rehabbed for $1 million.
