Debbie and Tom Muccio of the American Judging Association judged some 170 units that participated in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Trophy winners:

Best of parade: Burke Irish Dancers.

Best Irish theme: Ancient Order of Hibernians and Ladies Order of Hibernians.

Best float: St. Patrick Church of Youngstown.

Best drum and bugle corps: Steel City Ambassadors.

Best pipe band: Red Hackle Pipe & Drum.

Best band: Ursuline High School band, first, and Youngstown Symphonic Band, second.

Best novelty: Mahoning Valley Old Car Club, first, and Steel Valley Canines 4-H Club, second.

Best marching unit: 105th Volunteer Unit Infantry.

Best color guard: 910th Airlift Wing.

Sponsors: Mahoning Valley Irish Organization, WFMJ TV 21 and The Vindicator. Joyce Kale-Pesta is parade committee president.

Grand marshals: Coach Dan Reardon and the champion Ursuline Fighting Irish football team.
