h6-year-old boy has IQ higher than Einstein’s
LOVELAND, Ohio — Pranav Veera can recite the names of the U.S. presidents in the order they served in office. He can say the alphabet backward. Give him a date back to 2000, and he’ll tell you the day of the week. He’s only 6 years old.
Pranav is a typical young boy who is highly competitive at playing Wii video games and likes to play outside. A closer look reveals he’s anything but typical.
Pranav has an IQ of 176. One person in 1 million has an IQ of 176 or above. Albert Einstein’s IQ was believed to be about 160. The average IQ is 100.
When the Loveland boy was 41‚Ñ2, his parents noticed he seemed unusually intelligent while playing with alphabet sets. He could even recall which letters were certain colors.
His father, Prasad Veera, is a manager for Deloitte Consulting and Enterprise Content Management Practice chief of staff and has a doctorate. His mother, Suchitra Veera, works for Procter & Gamble as a systems manager. She has two master’s degrees.
The Veeras decided to have Pranav tested three months ago at Powers Educational Services in Hyde Park.
What does Pranav want to be when he grows up?
“An astronaut,” he said without hesitation.

Alexander said Jean Biden “is currently receiving treatment and is in good spirits.”

Shuttle rockets into orbit
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Space shuttle Discovery and its crew of seven rocketed into orbit Sunday evening, setting off on a space station construction mission cut short by launch delays that dragged on for more than a month.
Discovery rose from its seaside pad just as the sun was setting, a spectacular sight for a space agency anxious to get the flight going. As the shuttle sped away like a brilliant star, part of the launch plume glowed pink, peach and golden. The shuttle was visible for several minutes.
A hydrogen leak prevented Discovery from lifting off Wednesday and, before that, hydrogen valves kept the shuttle grounded for weeks in February. Launch pad repairs took care of the leak, and the astronauts were able to board their spaceship and lift off.
“Well, you had a little bit of a wait, but that will just make the payoff that much sweeter,” launch director Mike Leinbach told the astronauts.
Commander Lee Archambault and his crew, which includes two former schoolteachers, should reach the international space station Tuesday.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The former fianc of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter said in an interview that they could reunite but would remain apart as friends for now.
Levi Johnston, 19, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” in a segment to air today that he and 18-year-old Bristol Palin broke up after a fight “a week, two weeks ago” and had tried to “make things work.” The two are the parents of an infant son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, born Dec. 27.
Johnston also said they needed time to grow up before following through on marriage plans.
Sarah Palin announced her daughter’s pregnancy days after being picked by John McCain to be his GOP vice presidential running mate. In September, Johnston appeared at the Republican National Convention with the Palins.
