YOUNGSTOWN — Local author and longtime Youngstown educator Dr. Martha Bruce announced the release and book signing of her sixth children’s book from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 24 at the McGuffey Centre, 1644 Jacobs Road.
“Auntie’s Paint Brush and other stories of African Children” is a children’s book of four stories. It is a collaboration between Bruce and local artist and retired television news reporter Ode Aduma.
It is the second time the two have worked together on a children’s book.
Computer skills training
NEWTON FALLS — “Get Back To Work” computer skills training classes will be taught at the Newton Falls Public Library, 204 South Canal St., starting Thursday.
Among the topics to be covered are the Ohio Career Information System, interviewing techniques, r sum and cover-letter writing, and financial aid information (a valid library card is required).

Potter’s Wheel services
YOUNGSTOWN — With the economy in a slide, Beatitude House wanted to remind the community of the free services offered through The Potter’s Wheel, its education and career preparation program.
The Potter’s Wheel, 145 N. Glenellen Ave., provides participants with the opportunity to gain skills necessary to find employment and continue education. It offers GED and computer literacy classes, r sum writing and career planning, as well as other support services.
