WORTH THE GAMBLE: Convinced that a grand prize of $3,000 will tempt patrons attending the Rotary Club reverse raffle on April 24 to purchase the limited number of tickets available are, from left, Eric Caspary and Debbie Esbenshade, cochairs of the event, who are joined by John Logue, the winner of an Early Bird drawing for those who have already purchased tickets.

YOUNGSTOWN — Rotary Club of Youngstown will sponsor its 10th annual reverse raffle and silent auction fundraiser April 24 at The Embassy. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a social gathering, which includes an open bar and hors d’oeuvres. There will be a buffet dinner promptly at 7:30, and the raffle will begin at 8:30.

Featured during the evening will be a silent auction, a Chinese auction, and a live auction of autographed sports memorabilia. There will also be a chocolate fountain and entertainment by The Music Man (Bob Hlinka).

Tickets for the reverse raffle are $100, and only 175 will be sold. The grand prize will be $3,000.

Dinner-only tickets can be purchased for $50, and entitle the holder to the entire evening, with the exception of a chance to win the grand prize.

Proceeds from the event benefit charitable service projects of the Rotary Club. Funds from previous Rotary events have supported the Boys and Girls Club, Easter Seals, the Salvation Army, Goodwill, the Potential Development Program, and other area organizations.
