YOUNGSTOWN — Ahead 2-0 late in the second period, the Mahoning Valley Phantoms appeared to be well on their way to the win that would assure them home-ice advantage in the first round of the North American Hockey League playoffs.
That edge remains elusive.
The Phantoms’ Sunday cruise was abruptly halted when the Traverse City North Stars netted three goals within a span of 2:11 for a stunning 3-2 victory at the Chevrolet Centre.
