Marsteller 60th is celebrated in California
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn W. Marsteller
LA MESA, Calif. — Mr. and Mrs. Glenn W. Marsteller, 935 Lakeview Drive, formerly of 566 Elm St., Struthers, marked the 60th anniversary of their wedding with family and friends in the San Diego area.
Mr. Marsteller worked at Yallech Lumber Co. in Struthers before moving to California with his grandparents. He returned to Struthers and married the former Margaret Elma Bryce on March 11, 1949, at Struthers Baptist Tabernacle. The ceremony was officiated by his father, the Rev. A.J. Marsteller.
Mrs. Marsteller, a homemaker, was a secretary to the principal at Youngstown Parmalee School prior to her marriage.
The couple lived for a time in California before returning to Struthers, where they built their first home.
He worked for Stambaugh Thompson Co., and the Auxiliary Police Liaison Office of Struthers, before moving to La Mesa 40 years ago. He obtained a teaching degree and was a professor at Mesa College in San Diego for 32 years before retiring in 1989. He started a school, Associated General Contractors. He retired in 2001 due to health problems.
The couple’s family includes a son, Glenn Jr., his wife and three children, and their son-in-law Kirk Anderson, and his two children. Their daughter, Jackie Lynn Anderson, died in 2002.
