Youngstown police probe shootings

STAFF REPORT

YOUNGSTOWN — City police are investigating two shootings that occurred in the late hours of Thursday and early hours of Friday.

Officers were sent to a home at 529 Cameron just after 9 p.m. Thursday for a shooting that followed an argument between a group of individuals at that address.

Police reports say a group of men involved in the argument got into a car, pulled up to the house and began threatening a 21-year-old Youngstown man who was on the porch. The men pulled away, reports say, but returned a short time later on foot and began shooting.

The 21-year-old and a man identified only as Dean were wounded in the shooting. Dean was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center before police arrived. The police report, however, did not say whether the other man required hospitalization.

No arrests have been made in that shooting.

Just after midnight, officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Pasadena for another shooting.

The 25-year-old resident of the home said he was inside the house when he heard a series of gunshots. He later learned that someone had shot the house about eight times. Reports say the shooter was likely on foot or a bicycle when the shots were fired.

No arrest has been made.
