Judges announced for cooking event

BOARDMAN — Our Valley Cooks Food Expo and Recipe Challenge is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave., where three finalists will prepare their recipes in three categories in front of an audience.

Chosen to judge the recipe competition are the following; Ron Quaranta of Caff Capri, Danny Catullo of Catullo Meats, Chookie Alberini of Alberini’s, Tim King of The Upstairs, Rob Vossler of The Youngstown Club, Joe Rzonsa of the Blue Wolf, Amy Guterba of Nicolinni’s, and Maria Patrana of Cake Creations.

Aaron McCargo Jr. of Food Network will speak at 10:30 a.m., will later give a cooking demonstration, and will present the Best of Show Grand Prize when the winners are announced at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the programs of Meridian Services, the largest behavioral health care organization in the region.
